ELLIE
Ellie, our favourite pint-sized chirpy chef is just a bit obsessed with cooking. She has been a passionate advocate of real home-cooked food since the age of about zero. Ellie seems to be the only person on the planet who is vaguely impressed by her story about how she once cooked a lemon cake for Estha Ranson. Undeterred by this, she continues to share this story with anyone who will listen – so watch out!

TIM
Tim is a radio producer and musician who uses mindless cheeriness to mask his impotent fury towards the modern world. He is an avid consumer of food – Japanese cuisine and dim Sum are two favourites – but lacks confidence in the kitchen. Tim tends to favour obscure international dishes in the mistaken belief that this makes him more interesting.

NICOLA
Nicola is a big fan of food. She believes that getting cakes to rise and brownies to melt is the closest she can get to creating MAGIC: this and her unrelentingly sweet tooth contribute to her joy of baking. Generally she doesn’t have much patience to cook lots, but when she makes the effort, she’ll make slow roast casseroles and persian food. She likes garlic and lots of chilli. Ever since her uncle killed her pet lamb and her Dad made her eat its liver, she has never been a fan of liver, but she eats most other things.

INGRID
Ingrid is a South African wannabe sound engineer, who came to London with big dreams, but currently spends most of her time watching tele-box with the ninety somethings generation in her job as a Carer. She loves some meat with her black pepper and a sprinkle of veggies on the odd occasion…and is allergic to bake beans-as they make her vomit.

ROBERT
Robert lives and works in London and is not very keen on fat people. He likes venison, asparagus and brocolli and doesn’t like: beetroot, marmite or transfatty acids.

DOROTHY
‘Dotty’ works for the courts, where she does a grand job shouting “send ‘em down”. Her favourite food is barbeque chicken, but she’s also quite a fussy one – she doesn’t eat pork or beef and doesn’t really like fish either. Dorothy’s long suffering mum kindly provides a lot of her meals, so she doesn’t get that much practice in the kitchen.
